Core Silver Uncovers Major Copper-Molybdenum Corridor at Laverdiere, Expanding Potential of BC Project

By Daniel Brooks | Global Trade and Policy Correspondent

VANCOUVER – Core Silver Ltd. has released promising results from its 2025 soil sampling program at the Laverdiere copper-molybdenum project, located in the Atlin Mining District of northwestern British Columbia. The findings significantly expand the known mineralized footprint and bolster the case for a major porphyry system at the historic site.

The systematic survey, covering a 1.4km by 5.6km area, collected 231 soil samples. It successfully traced a coherent copper-molybdenum mineralization corridor stretching for several kilometres, extending known deposits approximately 1.7 kilometres northwest from the Main Skarn Zone.

Assay results returned standout values, including peak concentrations of 394 parts per million (ppm) copper and 227ppm molybdenum—figures that exceed local background levels by more than tenfold. These robust soil anomalies show strong spatial correlation with existing high-grade zones like the Valley and Main Skarn Zones, suggesting continuity of mineralization.

The program has also delineated two new high-priority drill targets, designated Anomalies Y and Z, which exhibit strong geochemical signatures. According to the company, the collective data indicates the presence of a large porphyry-skarn system that remains open along strike and at depth. Historical work and recent data suggest mineralization at Laverdiere now extends over 5 kilometres laterally and to depths exceeding 1,000 metres.

"The 2025 soil results are a watershed moment for our understanding of Laverdiere," said Nick Rodway, President and CEO of Core Silver. "We're not just looking at isolated anomalies; we've confirmed a large, coherent system over 5 kilometres in length. The correlation with known high-grade mineralization, drilling data, and geophysics gives us high confidence in the potential for a significant mineralized porphyry system at depth. This provides a clear and compelling roadmap for our next phase of drilling."

The Laverdiere project, with a history dating back to early 20th-century exploration, is a drill-permitted, low-elevation site centered on a Cretaceous granodiorite intrusion known for copper-molybdenum-silver porphyry mineralization.

Market & Industry Perspective

The results come as global copper demand forecasts remain strong, driven by the energy transition and electrification trends. Successful expansion of deposits in established mining districts like Atlin can significantly enhance a project's economic profile and attract partnership interest.

Reader Reactions

Maya Chen, Resource Geologist, Vancouver: "The geochemical continuity is impressive. Extending the known corridor by 1.7km and tying it into existing high-grade zones materially de-risks the exploration model. Anomalies Y and Z look like excellent, ready-to-drill targets."
David Forsythe, Retail Investor, Calgary: "Finally, some concrete results that show scale! The ten-times background values are what you want to see in early-stage soil work. This could be the catalyst the stock has needed if they follow up aggressively."
"SkepticalSam", Online Forum Commentator: "Hold on. Soil anomalies are just that—anomalies. Until they translate into drill-core with economic grades and thickness, this is just pretty maps and hype. How many 'major corridors' have we seen fizzle out after a few expensive drill holes? I'll believe it when I see a NI 43-101 resource."
Arjun Patel, Portfolio Manager, Toronto: "This expands the blueprint for Laverdiere substantially. For junior miners, demonstrating a large, systematic footprint is key to securing funding. The next drill program will be critical to validating the subsurface potential these surface results imply."
