Guernsey man accused of throwing petrol bombs at homes appears in court

A 69-year-old man has appeared in court after what police described as suspected petrol bombs were thrown at homes in Guernsey.

Malcolm Dennis Greening, of La Route des Cornus, St Martin, faced magistrates on charges of three counts of arson and one count of perverting the course of justice.

The case has been sent to the Royal Court, where Greening is expected to appear on 10 September. He was arrested following police appeals after suspicious incendiary objects were reported to have been thrown into properties in St Martin on two separate dates in 2025 — 8 February and 30 September.

The incident has unsettled the local community, with residents expressing concern over the nature of the alleged attacks. The Royal Court will now consider the evidence, and the case is expected to draw further attention as proceedings continue.
