Istanbul Fashion Connection 2026 Set to Welcome 30,000 Global Buyers, Cementing Turkey's Role as a Fashion Hub

ISTANBUL – The Istanbul Expo Center is preparing to host the fashion industry's key players as the Istanbul Fashion Connection (IFCO) returns for its ninth edition from 4–7 February 2026. The B2B platform, a critical bridge between Turkish manufacturing and international markets, is expected to attract around 30,000 trade visitors from over 125 countries, alongside approximately 400 exhibitors showcasing the full spectrum of Turkey's production prowess.

Since its inception, IFCO has seen remarkable growth, solidifying its position beyond a regional fair. Data from the 2022-2025 editions reveals the event hosted over 3,340 exhibitors and 210,000 professional visitors from 165 countries, underscoring its evolution into a global meeting point for sourcing and business development.

"The numbers speak to Turkey's strategic advantage," said an event spokesperson. "We're not just a manufacturing base; we're a integrated hub for design, innovation, and sustainable supply chains. IFCO 2026 is where those connections are forged."

The event's scale reflects Turkey's consolidated role in apparel supply chains, especially as brands seek diversification and agility post-pandemic. Major international buyers from retailers like Paul Smith (UK), Tara Jarmon (France), and Namshi (UAE) are confirmed to attend, alongside a broad contingent from European department stores, North American distributors, and Asian online platforms.

Organisers have designed a structured B2B matchmaking programme to facilitate direct sourcing and order placement across all categories, from womenswear and denim to footwear and home textiles.

Show Highlights and New Zones

A central attraction is The Core Istanbul in Hall 7, a curated space featuring 22 emerging Turkish designers like Özlem Süer and Ceren Ocak, aimed at translating avant-garde creativity into commercial opportunities. Adjacent to it, the Brands Area will host established names such as İpekyol and Kiğılı.

The 2026 edition further segments its offering into specialized halls: Fashionist (Hall 5) for evening and bridal wear; IFCO Kids (Hall 8) for children's apparel; and a newly integrated Linexpo (Hall 6), making its IFCO debut to cover lingerie, swimwear, and loungewear.

Beyond the exhibition floors, IFCO 2026 will host a seminar series in partnership with the Istanbul Fashion Academy (IMA), tackling forward-looking themes from Spring/Summer 2027/28 macro-trends to sustainability, digital transformation, and the practical application of AI in design and retail. The IFCO Talks stage and E2B Area will focus on e-commerce and export strategies, while runway shows will spotlight seasonal collections.

Industry Voices

Marcus Thorne, a sourcing director for a Scandinavian retail chain, commented: "IFCO has become indispensable for our seasonal buying. The combination of volume manufacturers and high-end designers under one roof is unique. It's where we find both our core suppliers and our next big collaboration."

Elena Petrova, a freelance fashion buyer based in Milan, offered a more critical view: "While the scale is impressive, the real test is in moving beyond being just a sourcing alternative to China. I want to see more concrete evidence of ethical production and circular design, not just seminars about them. The 'fast fashion' shadow is long, and Turkey needs to lead the change, not just follow trends."

Arda Yilmaz, founder of a rising Istanbul-based denim label exhibiting at The Core, shared: "This is our platform to the world. The direct access to global buyers here can literally define our next year. The energy is about proving Turkish fashion is about innovation, not just cost."
