Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs to $60 Million After Tuesday Drawing Comes Up Empty

The Mega Millions jackpot climbed to an estimated $60 million for Tuesday night's drawing, just days after a Florida ticket claimed last week's $800 million prize. The winning numbers for the Aug. 4 drawing were 14, 21, 51, 55 and 65, with the Mega Ball coming up 21. No ticket matched all six, so the jackpot will keep rolling.

Friday's Aug. 7 drawing is now set to carry an estimated $70 million top prize, with a cash option of roughly $29.7 million, according to game officials. Mega Millions draws take place twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Fridays, at 11 p.m. ET.

The odds of winning the jackpot are currently 1 in 290,472,336, slightly better than the 1 in 302,575,350 odds in place before the game was revamped in April 2025. Those long odds are part of what allows jackpots to grow into nine-figure territory, and Friday's rollover is expected to bring renewed attention to ticket sales.

Last week's $800 million win, also from a Florida ticket, ranks as the 10th-largest prize in Mega Millions history. The game's record remains the $1.602 billion jackpot won in Florida in August 2023, and five other drawings have produced prizes above $1.2 billion.

Jackpots reset each time a winning ticket is sold. After last week's Florida payout, the prize dropped to $50 million before building to $60 million for Tuesday's draw. Winners can choose to receive the money as a 30-year annuity or a one-time lump-sum cash payment; Tuesday's advertised cash option was $25.5 million before taxes.
