Netflix has announced a significant leadership consolidation, promoting Chief Technology Officer Elizabeth Stone to the newly created role of Chief Product and Technology Officer. The move effectively merges the streaming giant's product and technology organizations under a single executive for the first time.
Stone, who joined Netflix in 2020 to lead its data and insights division before becoming CTO in 2023, will now oversee all product, engineering, and data teams. The promotion comes three months after the departure of Chief Product Officer Eunice Kim, whose exit created the opportunity for this structural shift.
"Elizabeth's unique blend of technical depth, product intuition, and business acumen makes her the ideal leader for this combined organization," said Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters in a company statement. "Her track record of simplifying complex systems and accelerating team velocity will be crucial as we tackle ambitious projects across personalization, advertising technology, and global expansion."

Prior to Netflix, Stone held leadership positions at healthcare data firm Nuna and ride-sharing company Lyft.
