Patrick Clancy Still Talks to His Kids ‘All the Time,’ He Tells ‘60 Minutes’

Patrick Clancy still talks to his children. Not in the way he once did, but often enough that the conversations have become part of his daily life.
He speaks with them “all the time,” he says.
In an interview set to air Sunday on 60 Minutes, Clancy sits down with correspondent Ross Douthat to discuss his grief, his memories of Cora, Dawson, and Callan, and the baseless conspiracy theories that flooded social media after the murder case against his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy.
Douthat asked what he says to them. “Help me,” Clancy replied. “All the time.”
Asked whether they help him, Clancy said, “I like to believe they do. It’s a way I stay connected to them.”
Douthat spoke with Clancy and his wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, weeks after Lindsay Clancy’s case ended in a mistrial. A lone holdout kept the jury from reaching a unanimous verdict on whether she was criminally responsible by reason of insanity. Her defense team argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis when she killed 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan in 2023. Prosecutors have not yet said whether they will seek a retrial.
The interview arrives at a moment when the case continues to draw national attention—and when questions about postpartum psychosis, criminal responsibility, and online misinformation remain unresolved. For Patrick Clancy, the conversation is also a chance to describe a grief that is still unfolding, and to reject false claims that have shadowed a family already marked by loss.
Watch the interview on 60 Minutes on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and Paramount+. Sign up for the 60 Minutes newsletter to make sure you never miss a minute.
