Reges Elektrik Acquires Tuşpa Enerji, Kicks Off 70MW Wind Farm in Türkiye
Turkish energy company Reges Elektrik has finalized the acquisition of Tuşpa Enerji, a move that immediately enables the commencement of electricity generation at the 70MW Demirli Wind Power Project located in the Kaman district of Kırşehir, Türkiye. The deal was completed through RES Türkiye, a subsidiary of the international renewable energy developer RES Group.
This strategic investment allows Reges Elektrik to merge its established energy supply operations with new, high-capacity power production, significantly strengthening its position in Türkiye's competitive energy market. The company aims to meet international operational standards with this project.
Central to the Demirli project is a partnership with turbine manufacturer ENERCON. The site will feature ten of ENERCON's latest E-175 EP5 E2 turbines, marking the first deployment of this high-efficiency model in Türkiye. The technology is expected to boost the project's energy output and set a new benchmark for wind power installations in the region.
The Demirli Wind Power Project represents Reges Elektrik's inaugural foray into utility-scale generation, signaling a broader corporate pivot from a pure energy supplier to an integrated power producer. Company executives have pledged to keep investors and the public informed on the project's progress and future renewable energy ventures.
"Aligning with Türkiye's national energy vision is not just a business decision; it's a strategic imperative that influences our entire economic framework, from development goals to urban planning," said Enver Altuncu, General Manager of Reges Elektrik. "The acquisition of Tuşpa Enerji and the launch of the Kaman wind farm decisively position Reges on the production side of the industry. We are building a comprehensive energy structure by bolstering our supply-chain success with robust generation capabilities."
Altuncu added, "Our goal is holistic inclusion across the energy value chain. We approach energy through a wider lens that accounts for its social, economic, and environmental footprint, not merely as a commodity."
The expansion occurs as Türkiye continues to push for greater energy independence and a higher share of renewables in its grid, reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels.
Expert & Industry Reaction
Maya Chen, Energy Analyst at FinCap Advisors: "This is a logical and timely consolidation. Reges is vertically integrating at a moment when turbine efficiency is peaking. The use of ENERCON's latest model could give them a crucial early-mover advantage in operational cost savings."
David Rossi, Project Manager at a European renewable fund: "Seeing a regional player make this leap is encouraging for the entire market. It validates the bankability of midsized wind projects in Türkiye and will likely attract more institutional interest."
Alara Tanrıverdi, Environmental Policy Advocate: "Another corporate merger, another wind farm. But where is the commensurate investment in grid modernization and storage? These projects are meaningless if the infrastructure to support them lags decades behind. This isn't a vision; it's a piecemeal land grab dressed in green rhetoric."
Kemal Yılmaz, Local Business Owner in Kırşehir: "We welcome the investment and the potential for local jobs during the operational phase. My hope is that the company engages genuinely with the community, not just during construction but for the long term."
