Trump’s Childhood Home in Queens Sells for Nearly $2 Million

NEW YORK — President Donald Trump’s childhood home in Queens has sold for $1.93 million, according to its Zillow listing, closing a years-long stretch in which the property cycled through rentals, price cuts and renovations.

The more than 2,100-square-foot Tudor-style house in Jamaica Estates has five bedrooms and three bathrooms. The listing describes it as fully gut-renovated with meticulous attention to detail.

Trump lived there until he was 4, the Associated Press reported. His father built the home in the 1940s, and the family has not owned it for years.

The sale closed Sept. 11. Zillow shows the buyer was undisclosed. The home was listed in May for $2.2 million, reduced in June to $1.99 million and went into contract in July at that price, according to the listing and the New York Post.

Developer Tommy Lin bought the property in 2025, according to the AP. The listing shows he paid $835,000, and the New York Post reported he spent more than $500,000 on an eight-month renovation.

The house has changed hands repeatedly. In 2017, it sold for $2.14 million to Trump Birth Home LLC, which offered it as an Airbnb rental, the AP reported. The listing included life-sized cardboard cutouts of Trump, copies of The Art of the Deal and a framed People magazine cover featuring him.

It was listed again in 2019 for $2.9 million but did not find a buyer until Lin purchased it. Before that sale, the home had sat vacant for years and suffered damage from a burst pipe and mold, according to the New York Post, which also reported that feral cats had moved in.

The final price is below both the May asking price and the 2017 sale figure, a reminder that even a property tied to a president can be subject to the usual forces of the housing market. Celebrity provenance can draw attention, but condition, location and timing often determine what a buyer will actually pay.

For Jamaica Estates, the transaction is a notable luxury sale in a quiet Queens enclave known for larger homes and tree-lined streets. It also adds another chapter to the odd afterlife of a house that has been marketed as both a family residence and a curiosity for Trump watchers.
